OUR STAY AT SONEVA FUSHI

Soneva Fushi a an island which you can find about 30 minutes flying north from Male and once you arrive, you will feel like you reached the paradise. We had the oppurtunity to spend in Fushi 6 amazing day and to be honest - directly at in the introduction I am not ashamed to tell you it was one of our best stays in Maldives, in Asia, ever.

Soneva Fushi je ostrov, který se nachází cca. 30 minutovým letem hydroplánem, severně of Male. Už hned po příjezdu Vám dojde, že pobyt v Sonevě bude naprostým snem. My jsme v tomto luxusním rezortu strávili 6 nocí a musím uznat, že to byl jeden z mých nejlepších zážitků v hotelu za celý svůj život. 

ABOUT SONEVA FUSHI

The Soneva Fushi island an be found in the Baa Atoll, surrounded by the UNESCO biosphere. As mentioned before, you can reach the island within 30 minutes flying by seaplane. I am pretty sure you know that the brand is having their own seaplanes and flying with them is as luxurious as the stay itself. With 63 Beach villas and 8 Water Villas (called the "Water Retreat") the island is the perfect combination of many factors: like "intelligent luxury" as the brand calls it, combining sustainability and luxury at the same time. How is this possible? The island grows its own vegetables and fruits which is being served to the guests. Not only that the safe CO2 emissions on the transport, but they are also provide with the freshest, directly picked food at the same time. They are also turning the used wine bottles into the art which you can purchase as a memory: which honestly I feel is really special about Soneva Fushi, and Soneva as a brand in general.

Hotel Soneva Fushi naleznete na Atolu Baa a je obklopen biosférou UNESCO. Jak jsem již psala v úvodu, na ostrov se dostanete pomocí hydroplánu - z Male let trvá cca. 30 minut. Hotel vlastní i svá letadla, takže pokud se Vám poštěstí, na hotel poletíte přímo letadlem Soneva. Na ostrově pak najdete 63 plážových vil a 8 vodních (kterým se v Sonevě říká "Water Retreat"). Celá filozofie Sonevy je "intelligent luxury" - což znamená hostům dopřát ten nejvyšší luxus tím nejšetnějším způsobem. A jak je tohle možné? Kromě toho, že Soneva přispívá za každého hotelového hosta příspěvkem proti CO2 emisím, také má na ostrově své vlatsní "eco centrum", kde například vyrábí kokosvý olej, který je používán jak v kuchyni, tak ve spa, nebo také vlastní uhlí. Také má vlastní zahradu, kde pěstuje vlastní ovoce a zeleninu, která se pak používá v kuchyni. Láhve od vína mění v mění, které si na ostrově můžete zakoupit a nebo také nepoužívá skoro žádné plasty: koše jsou zásadně bez plastových sáčků a všechny nápoje jsou podávány ve skle.

 

THE ROOMS

I am pretty sure that you might have already seen a picture or two from Soneva Fushi: doesn't matter if a Water Retreat post or a Beach Villa post, the stay will be memorable in both. Let's start with the Water Retreat: We had the chance to stay in the amazing 1 Bedroom Water Reatreat With A Slide and honestly it was a dream come true. It's not just about the water slide (which is quite amazing, I am not gonna lie to you) but the whole interior of the house was absolutely out of this world. Have you ever been amazed by light switched in a hotel room before? I certainly haven't - yet Soneva managed to leave me absolutely speechless. On the water you can find only 6, in December opened, villas. In Soneva Fushi there are more Beach Villas and we also had the chance to see the Family Beach Villa With A Pool which is also a great option. The Beach Villas are really spacious and amazing too - and more suitable for families with little kids especially.

Jsem si jistá, že jste již na Instagramu pár fotek ze Sonevy zaznamenali: a to jak z jejich ikonických vodních vil, tak i z prostorných plážových domečků. Jako první bych Vám chtěla povyprávět o jejich "1 Bedroom Water Retreat With A Slide", tedy vodní vile s 1 ložnicí a klouzačkou. Asi Vám ani nemusím říkat, že to byl jeden z největších hotelových "pokojů", ve které jsem kdy byla. A mít vlastní klouzačku? O tom se mi vždy maximálně tak zdálo. Tyto vodní vily byly otevřené teprve v prosinci 2020 a musím uznat, že propracované jsou do posledního detailu: upřímně jsem v nich obdivovala i vypínače. Za zmínku stojí ale i jejich skvělé plážové vily. My jsme například viděli "Family Beach Villa With A Pool", která byla ještě prostornější než naše vodní vila (650 m2), a podle nás byla skvělou volbou pro rodiny s menšími dětmi. Podle mě stojí "za hřích" obě.

THE DINING OPTIONS

On the island you can find many dining options as well. We didn't even manage to explore them all - however we did explore some of them so let me tell you about those! The breakfast is served in the buffet restaurant called Mihiree Mithaa which is also opened for buffet dinner (on certain nights). To be honest I've been to some hotels in my life but I've never experienced a breakfast like this: from gluten-free, dairy-free over vegan and vegetarian to pescatarian to "normal" versions. There are different rooms in the breakfast area: a special room for all the pastry and bread, a dedicated room for the fruits, a special vegetable room, a room for all the cold cutes and of course different live cooking stations. I was really impressed by this. Of course, if you don't feel like leaving the villa, you can always go for the in-villa dining - which we also did while staying in the Water Villa as it was too perfect to leave. One of the places which I personally loved on the island was Out of the Blue. I was amazed by both the amazing wood work and the delicious food. This place we usually went to for lunch: you absolutely have to try their salmon nigiris and their sushi collection. Everything was so fresh and so delicious - I am not gonna lie: I went for this combination every single day and I never got bored. In the building you can also find the Wine Cellar and most importantly, the So Guilty and So Cool. This is a special room designed for all guests to enjoy complimentary, opened from the morning until the evening. You'll find there a large selection of sweets (different kinds of chocolates, chocolate cookies, pretzels, etc). and also home made ice creams and sorbets - again I would be lying if I told you I didn't go there every day after lunch. Another place which I was strongly impressed with was the Fresh in the Garden. The restaurant is to be found in the tree crowns, overlooking the Soneva fields where they are growing their own vegetables and fruits. For me, personally, this place had such a magical atmosphere - and the food was amazing too. We loved it so much that we decided to stay for some after dinner cocktails at the bar which were super-delicious and also went to the near-by observatory where we learned more about the stars. The last, but not least, is the Down to Earth, where we had dinner once. Once again the food outstanding and I have absolutely nothing to comment on what the team could have done better. Once a week, in Soneva Fushi it was on Tuesday, the team is throwing the So Social Party where the guest have the chance to get the whole team better, learn more about the Soneva brand and their philosophy and also enjoy drinks and some food with the compliments of the hotel. 

I co se jídla týče, Soneva má toho dost k nabídnutí. Na ostrově najdete hned několik restaurací: já bych chtěla zmínit ty, které jsme na vyzkoušeli "na vlastní kůži". Snídaně se podává formou bufetu v restauraci Mihiree Mithaa. Já jsem hotelových snídaní zažila již několik - ale musím říct, že Soneva mi trochu vyrazila dech. Nejedná se totiž o klasický bufet - v rámci snídaně chodíte do různých místností a vybíráte si to nejlepší z nejlepšího: například v rámci budetu najdete prostornou místnost s pečivem a sladkým - klasickým, sugar-free, veganským, bezlepkovým, apod. Musím říct, že takový výběr jen pečiva jsem v hotelu opravdu ještě neviděla. Také v bufetu najdete oddělený pokoj s ovocem, pak také se sýry a šunkou, další se zeleninou a pak také klasické "live cooking stations". Samozřejmě pokud nechcete, nemusíte nikam chodit a snídani si můžete vychuntnat ve vlastní vile. Jedna z mých nejoblíbenějších restaurací na ostrově byla Out of the Blue, kam jsme prakticky chodili každý den na oběd. Zamilovala jsem si jejich lososové nigiri a také denní výběr sushi - a to tak moc, že jsem si tuto kombinaci dávala každý den. Součástí restaurace je také vinnáý sklep, bar a také speciální místnost, kterou všichni znají pod názvem So Guilty a So Cool. Tady najdete nejrůznější sladké dobroty - například domácí čokoládu, sušenky a další sladké pochoutky - a také domácí zmrzlinu a sorbet. Lhala bych, kdybych tvrdila, že jsem tuhle místnost nenavštívila za celý pobyt párkrát. Všichni hosté do ní mají zdarma přístup a mohu ji využívat víceméne od rána do večera. Za zmínku také stojí restaurace Fresh in the Garden, který se nachází doslova v korunách stromů a večeři si tak můžete vychutat v nezapomenutelné atmosféře. Za mě tohle byl jeden z nejkrásnějších zážitků na ostrově a kromě atmosféry bylo skvělé samozřejmě i jídlo. Líbilo se nám tam tak moc, že jsme se rozhodli v restauraci zůstat i na drinky, a také navštívit místní hvězdárnu, která se nachází jen kousek od restaurace. Vyzkoušeli jsme i restauraci Down to Earth, která také neměla chybu. Kromě klasických zážitků si můžete vychutnat i So Social - jedná se o cocktail, kam každé úterý hotel zde své hosty, které tak mají jedinečnou příležitost se dozvědět více o hotelu, jejich filozofii a poznat i jejich zaměstnance. Na party se podávájí jednohubky a také cocktaily, které si hosté mohou vychutnat úplně zdarma.

THE OVERALL RATING

I guess you got it yourself: our stay at the Soneva Fushi island was an absolute dream come true. The hotel is not your regular luxurious vacation - there is something really special about staying in Soneva and the fact that you don't have to worry about anything and basically "nothing is a problem" is a vacation worth of everything. For me this was definitely one of the best stays in my entire life and I only hope to have the chance this once again in my life. Thank you, Soneva, for the amazing stay!

Myslím, že jste to všichni z článku asi pochopili: Soneva Fushi byla pro nás jedinečných zážitkem a nemám ji absoulutně co vyčíst. Mohu jen doufat, že tenhle zážitek budeme moct ještě někdy zažít, a pokud máte tu možnost se do hotelu podívat, tak určitě bookujte na 10000%!
