OUR STAY AT THE PULLMAN MAAMUTAA

The all-inclusive, 5-star luxury resort, the Pullman Maldives Maamutaa has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Finally we made it to the island and had a wonderful stay for whole 7 days. In this post I would like to give you a little bit of information about the hotel and also a little review of our stay.

Pullman Maldives Maamutaa je all-inclusive, 5-i hvězdičkový resort jižně od Male, který byl na našem bucket již pár let. Konečně jsme měli tu příležitost se do hotelu podívat a strávit v něm krásných 7 dní. Dneska bych Vám ráda hotel představila, a zároveň ho také zhodnotila.

ABOUT PULLMAN MAAMUTAA

To reach the Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, you will have to take a domestic flight from the Male Airport to the Koodoo Island which takes about an hour, followed by a 15-20 minute speed boat transfer from the Koodoo island. The island Maamutaa is located south from the capital Male and is quite big and it takes about 45 minutes to walk around, which is quite big in comparison to other properties we've been to. On the island you can find a total of 6 bars and restaurants, 2 main pools, a gym, a tennis court, a water sports center, a diving center, spa, 24h front desk and also 122 villas located not only on the land and on the water, but also under the water! The resort is an all-inclusive resort which is very rare in the Maldives: you get snacks, food, drinks, cocktails, wine.... (almost) anything you wish for anytime of the day! If you would like to get even more premium brands, there is a small charge you will have to pay - however as for us, the drinks in the "inclusive" section were more than enough: I personally loved the fact that they had even champagne and the minibar included in the All-inclusive.

Do hotelu Pullman Maldives Maamutaa se dostanete vnitrostátním letem na ostrov Koodoo, který trvá přibližně hodinu. Následná cesta lodí na ostrov trvá cca. 20 minut. Samotný ostrov je poměrně velký: obejdete ho za cca. 45 minut - pro nás to byl určitě jeden z větších ostrov, které jsme již navštívili. Na ostrově najdete celkem 6 barů a restaurací, 2 společné bazény, posilovnu, tenisový kurt, centrum pro potápění, centrum pro vodní aktivity, spa, recepci, která funguje 24 hodin a 122 vil, které jsou jak na souši, tak na vodě i pod ní! Pullman Maldives Maamutaa je all-inclusive resort, což znamená, že každý z hostů může čerpat výhod all-inclusive: jídlo i pití (včetně alkoholu) je součástí balíčku. Připlatit si je nutné jen v případně prémiovější značek - u nás to ale potřeba nebyla. Součástí je totiž i šampaňské a mini bar!

OUR ROOM

During our time at the Pullman Maamutaa we had the chance to stay in the Ocean Pool Villa which had about 165 square meters. When you entered the villa, right away you were at the villa deck where you could find a seating / laying area with a table, a comfortable chair, a shell to lay in and also a small dining table with 2 chairs and an outdoor shower. The highlight of the deck, to me, was a private pool which you could use anytime you wanted. Inside of the actual villa there was a bedroom with a spacious bed, TV, relaxation area with a little window in the floor which allowed you to watch the ocean and fish, working area and also a minibar which was restocked twice a day and also included in the rate! It consisted of non-alcoholic drinks, like Coca-Cola, Fanta or juice, alcoholic beverages like wine, gin or rum, and also Nespresso coffee machine with taps and a water cooker with plenty of tea to choose from. In a little separated area there was a large mirror with a make-up table and also two wardrobes which had plenty of space to store our clothes and suitcases. Separated by a sliding, at the end villa, was a bathroom in which you had a bathtub, two sinks with a mirror, walk-in shower, restroom and also an outdoor shower. The room had the perfect size and also everything we needed for the week! For one night, we went to the Aqua Villa with the highlight having an underwater bedroom. This is a bookable experience: you can choose from canapes and champagne which for 500$++ per couple gonna get you 2 hours in the villa or for 1290$++ per couple you can spend the night like we did. Honestly I think this experience is worth every cent: as most animals get really active in the night, it was the perfect chance to watch them up close!

Během našeho pobytu v hotelu jsme byli ubytovaní v kategorii Ocean Pool Villa s velikostí ca. 165 metrů čtverečních. Hned po příchodu do vily jste se ocitli na terase vily, jejíž součástí byla sofa se stolečkem, lehátko pro 2, stůl se 2 židlemi, křeslo, venkovní sprcha a také velký, privátní bazén. Po příchodu do samotné vily jste jako první přišli do ložnice, jejíž součástí byla prostorná postel s 2 nočními stolky, pracovní plocha se stolem a židlí, televize, relaxační sofa s malým "okénkem" v podlaze a také minibar, jehož součástí byl Nespresso kávovar, varná konvice, spousta snacků (např. Toblerone, Haribo, chipsy) a také lednice vybavená nealkoholickými drinky a také vínem a tvrdším alkoholem. Lednice byla doplňována 2x denně a minibar byl v ceně pobytu. Separátně se pak nacházela prostorná šatna s 2 skříněmi, velkým zrcadlem a také stolečkem na make-up. V zadní části pokoje byla pak velká koupelna - uprostřed stála vana a po stranách byla 2 umyvadla se zrcadly, toaleta a také sprcha, která měla několik metrů čtverečních. Úplně vzadu pokoje se nacházela venkovní sprcha. Myslím, že pokoj měl perfektní velikost a vila nám stačila úplně bohatě celý týden! Na poslední den jsme se přestěhovali do kategorie Aqua Villa, jejíž highlightem je podvodní ložnice. Tento zážitek se dá extra připlatit: za 500$++ (cena za pár) si můžete ve vile vychutnat šampaňské a kanapky po dobu 2 hodin a nebo můžete zvolit přespání jako my za 1290$++ (pro pár). Osobně tohle byl jeden z nejkrásnějších zážitků v mém životě a každý "cent" stál opravdu za to. Pro mě to je vzpomínka, na kterou budu vzpomínat celý svůj život.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

As mentioned, there is a total of 6 restaurants and bars. The Melange is a main restaurant in which you can enjoy daily breakfast, lunch and dinner in the form of buffet. During breakfast time you can enjoy a large selection of fresh juices, coffees, teas, smoothies and of course - Mimosa -. You can choose anything from egg dishes over traditional Maldivian breakfast to sweet pastry and fruits. The selection was great every day and I personally recommend trying out the traditional Maldivian dishes which I personally love and enjoy! As buffet, you can also enjoy your lunch and dinner - when it comes to dinner there were two "themed" dinners: on Thursday it was a Seafood night and on Monday it was Surf & Turf! If you would like to enjoy an à la carte meal, you can visit Sol Rising which is a bar yet also a restaurant opened for a "Active breakfast" with many gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan or keto dishes on the menu. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner which menu cards are more in an Italian style. There is also a Pool deck which you can enjoy the whole day! Additionally, they also have a large Wine Cellar in which you can go to and pick the wine you would like to have - the majority is included in the All Inclusive package. In Phar Chemeleon you can enjoy a large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes - as we really enjoy fish and seafood in the Maldives, we didn't try this one. Of course, you can also always give a call and enjoy the In-Villa dining. Private dining is called Romeo & Juliet and can be arranged specially for you by the team. 

Jak jsem již psala, na ostrově je celkem 6 restaurací a barů. Hlavní restaurace se jmenuje Melange a podává se v ní snídaně, oběd i večeře, a to formou bufetu. Ve čtvrtek je vždy "Seafood night" a v pondělí pak "Surf&Turf". Pokud chcete zvolit zdravější snídani ve formě a la carte, zajděte do Sol Rising, kde se podává "Active breakfast", jejíž součástí je spousta zdravých pokrmů: bez lepku, bez laktozy, veganských i keto. Já osobně doporučit alespoň jednou ochutnat jejich bezlepkové lívance! V této restauraci si můžete vychutnat i oběd a večeři ve stylu a la carte - menu je stylizované do italského stylu. Součástí restaurace je také vinný sklípek, ve kterém si můžete vybrat víno, na které zrovna máte chuť (a většina je součástí ceny!). Phat Chameleon je pak vegetariánská a veganská restaurace - tu jsme ale nevyzkoušeli, jelikož na Maledivách většinou volíme seafood nebo ryby. Využít můžete samozřejmě i villa servis nebo privátní večeři, která je v části ostrova, které nese jméno Romeo & Juliet.

ACTIVITIES

When at Pullman Maldives, you can enjoy from a large selection of activities. Guests staying 5 - 7 nights can enjoy one of these following activities per person: sunset fishing, sunset cruise, guided snorkling on the house reef, marine biology presentation or a nature walk and one of these: 45 minute massage at Pullman Spa, 30 minutes of jet ski or 1 tank dive (for certified divers). If you stay longer than 8 nights, you get to choose 2 activities from both categories per person. Additionally, there is also a water sports center and daily you can use non-motorized water sports equipment for free. There is also complimentary sunrise yoga, aerobics, zumba or beach volleyball. 

Co se aktivit týče, i těch maledivský Pullman nabízí nespočet. Hosti, kteří na ostrově stráví víc jak 5 nocí, si mohou vybrat (na osobu) jednu z následujících aktivit: projíždka při západu slunce, rybaření při západu slunce, šnorchlování na "domácím" útesu, prezentaci o mořské biologii nebo procházku přírodou, a také jednu (na osobu) z těchto aktivit: 45 masáž v Pullman Spa, 30 minut jet ski a nebo 1 hodina potopu (pro certifikované potápěče). Pokud na ostrově strávíte více jak 8 dní, můžete si z každé kategorie vybrat aktivity 2. K tomu ještě můžete (zadarmo) nemotorizované sporty (1 hodina denně), můžete si půjčit výbavu na šnorchlování, jít na jógu, zumbu, aerobik nebo například plážový volleyball!
