THE PERFECT MOUNTAIN GETAWAY

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well! Today I've got a post for you from the area of Kitzbühel, which is the first trip of 2020 we took! I love staying in the mountains and skiing, so we decided to spend a couple of days at the amazing Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol, which is located in Jochberg, a village just a few minutes (driving distance) from Kitzbühel. 

Krásné ráno všem! Dneska mám pro Vás z hor, kam jsme vyrazili začátkem ledna. Pro náš pobyt jsme si vybrali luxusní, 5-hvězdičkový rezort Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol, který se nachází v Jochbergu - tedy jen pár kilometrů od známého Kitzbühlu.

THE ALPINE HEAVEN

The luxurious, 5-star Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol offers the perfect winter getaway. We chose the hotel for many reasons: the outstanding quality of the service and food, the great 3600 sqm "Luxury Spa" and the great location allowing you to ski basically from the hotel. The hotel opened in 2011 and has a total of 156 rooms and suites. We had the chance to stay in the Deluxe Room which had a nice view on the slope on the mountains. The room felt very cozy and very spacious - I loved siting at the balcony while having some in-room breakfast in the morning. There are 4 conference rooms in the hotel, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. One of the great features of the hotel is the 3600-sqm big spa which is the perfect place for a mountain relaxation. The whole area is surrounded by mountains which gives you a nice feeling. There is one pool which is both inside and outside and additionally one smaller outside pool with nice warm water. The spa has many other elements: a sun terrace, a large relaxation area which is inside, spa suites, ice fog, sauna and a fitness and cardio area. In the spa you can of course book one of their many procedures: single or a couple massage, cosmetics treatments or baths. There is also a personal trainer available shall you need one. Talking about sports - inside of the hotel you'll also find the ski school "Jochberg" which is suitable for all ages. In case you can't ski - this is the perfect opportunity to learn.

Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol je skvělou volbou každého, kdo hledá "perfektní" zimní dovolenou. My jsme si vybrali tento hotel hned z několika důvodů: kvality servisu a ubytování, velkého spa s výhledem na okolí a také kvůli přímému přístupu na sjezdovku přímo z hotelu. Hotel nabízí celkem 156 pokojů a suites, přičemž mi jsme měli tu možnost se ubytovat v jejich "Deluxe Roomu" s výhledem na město a na hory. Pokoj působil útulně a prostorně. Součástí pokoje byl také balkon - z něho byl nádherný výhled na celé okolí - takže jako klasicky jsem si jednou dopřála snídani na pokoj a kochala se krásnou krajinou a krásným počasím. V budově se nachází celkem 4 konferenční místnosti, 2 restaurace a 2 bary. Hotelové Spa je opravdu obrovské: rozléhá se na ploše neuvěřitelných 3600 metrů čtverečních a najdete v něm všechno, co ke svému relaxu potřebujete: kromě velkého plaveckého bazénu, který je rozdělen do vnitří a vnější části, se můžete těšit na spoustu relaxačích místností, menší venkovní bazén s teplou, slanou vodou, saunu, hamam, venkovní terasu a speciální "Spa Suites", které si v hotelu můžete zabookovat. Součástí je i samozřejmě prostorné fitness a k dispozici tu mají i osobního trenéra. Součástéí hotelu je také lyžařská škola "Jochberg", která slouží všem věkovým kategoriiím.

THE PERFECT DINING EXPERIENCE

If you won't be able to stay at the hotel, make sure to at least make a visit to one of their renowned restaurants. We had a daily breakfast at the "Steinberg" restaurant. I have to say I was really surprised by the large selection of food and beverages at the breakfast - there was literally everything you can imagine - from an egg station over a large selection of sausage, meat and fish to miso soup. One of the things which I really appreciated was the gluten-free corner which was really large. I have to say their gluten-free chocolate cake tasted like a piece of heaven. Of course there was also a big selection of pastry and bread, fruits, vegetables and other delicious meals. Of course, you could pour yourself a glass of champagne or mimosa in the morning and what I enjoyed as well - the fact that the hotel had also some lactose-free milk available. In this restaurant you can also book the half board package which gives you a daily access to the 4 course menu in the evening. We also decided to try the restaurant. We made a reservation for Saturday night. We started off our dinner with delicious appetizers - my boyfriend went for a local soup while I started off with some scallops. My partner went for lamb in his main course and I ordered "catch of the day" which was salmon in a delicious sauce with some grilled veggies. Both meals tasted very well - just like the dessert. We had a "Kaiserschmarrn" which is a traditional, local dish made out of pancake. Since I am gluten-free I was offered some champagne parfait with berries and white chocolate. Our dinner was really good and what we enjoyed as well was the fact that the place felt intimate and wasn't overcrowded. I could definitely recommend this one. There's also a second restaurant in the hotel, called Sra Bua. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try this Asian culinary restaurant.

Pokud nebudete mít tu možnost se v hotelu ubytovat, doporučuji alespoň vyzkoušet jednu z jejich vyhlášených restaurací. Denně jsme měli snídani v restauraci Steinberg, která mě opravdu překvapila svojí rozmanitostí. Kromě klasických snídaních pokrmů jako jsou vajíčka, pečivo a studené pokrmy jako mnoho druhů šunky, ryb a příloh se hotel může pochlubit také bohatým bezlepkovým a bezlaktózovým koutkem. V restauraci jsme měli inkludovanou také jednu večeři, která byla opravdu vynikající. V restauraci můžete ochutnat místní i mezinárodní pokrmy. Těšit se můžete také na skvělou atmosféru. V hotelu se nachází také druhá restaurace Sra Bua, ale tu jsme bohužel neměli možnost vyzkoušet.

Our stay was absolutely flawless and we enjoyed our time in the Kitzbühler Alps a lot. I could recommend the hotel to everyone who is looking for the perfect mountain getaway, regardless if you're a skier or not. I would definitely come back to this place and I hope I will again in the future!
