OUR SUMMER STAY AT THE BÜRGENSTOCK RESORT

 

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well! As you might know from my Instagram, last week we came back to our favourite Palace Hotel which belongs to the Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland. From the very first moment on this became instantly one of my favourite places in the world. In this post I would like to introduce to you the hotel where we stayed at for 4 nights and also give you a little review of the resort in general.

Krásné ráno všem! V dnešním článku bych Vám chtěla ukázat fotky z našeho pobytu v Palace Hotel, který je součástí komplexu Bürgenstock, který se nachází u švýcarského lucernského jezera. V hotelu jsme strávili skvělé 4 noci. Pro mě to byla již třetí návštěva Bürgenstocku, a věřím, že nebyla poslední. 

THE HOTEL

The luxurious Palace Hotel is a part of the Bürgenstock Resort which is located just 1.5 hours away from Zürich and about 40 minutes away from Lucerne. As a part of your stay you have an unlimited usage of the Bürgenstock catamaran which connects Bürgenstock with the city of Lucerne. This means that you actually do not need a car when going to this hotel. Additionally, there is also a cable car which you can, as a hotel, also use for free. The Palace Hotel itself is a historical 5-star hotel built in 1879. Even as a guest of the Palace Hotel you can book a room with the spa access - this way you can fully enjoy the benefits of the Alpine Spa which is located inside of the Bürgenstock Hotel. The spa has over 10,000 square meters and in my personal opinion it is the best spa in Europe and one of the best spas in the world. The highlight is without any doubt the infinity pool out of which you can watch the Lake Lucerne. The water is warm enough in all seasons - this means that you can enjoy it all year long! There is, of course, a big inside pool and additionally the Hollywood Pool which is perfect for hot summer days. In the spa you can find many resting beds and chairs. Of course there is also sauna, stream room, a floating bath, hamam and sleeping capsules. In the spa each guest is provided with bathrobe and slippers. In the changing rooms you can find many amenities, like nail filers, hair ties, body lotion, make-up pads, etc. In the spa itself you can get water, tea and snacks, like nuts, dried fruits or bananas free of charge. There are also private spa rooms which you can book. On the spa menu you can find many beauty and health improving treatments - for example massages, facials, manicures or haircuts. Newly the hotel launched a collaboration with my favourite cosmetics brand, Biologique Rechcerche. You can book a treatment with their products which is tailored to you based on your skin analysis results. As a part of the hotel, there are also many conference rooms which can be used for both private and commercial events, like weddings, parties or conferences. There is also an in-house cinema which the hotel guests can also use and pay a visit to. In the surroundings you can enjoy the beautiful nature, hike or go on a simple walk. 

Jak jsem již psala, Palace Hotel je luxusní, 5-i hvězdičkový hotel, který je součástí hotelového komplexu Bürgenstock Resort. V tom kromě již zminovaného hotelu Palace a samotného Bürgenstocku, najdete také Waldhotel a Taverne. Tento rozhlehlý komplex se nachází cca. 90 minut jízdy autem od Zürichu a jen 40 minut od Luzernu. Součástí Vašeho pobytu je i využívání hotelového katamaránu, který spojuje Bürgenstock s Lucernem. Jezdit můžete neomezeně a zcela zdarma. Využívat můžete také lanovku, kterou se dostanete do samotného hotelu. I tuto máte v ceně pobytu. Palace Hotel byl postaven již v roce 1879 a jedná se tak o nejstarší budovu celého komplexu. Jako součást Vaší návštěvy si můžete připlatit i vstup do světoznámého Alpine Spa, které se nachází v hotelu Bürgenstock. Má přes 10,000 metrů čtverečních a nabídnout toho má opravdu dost. Absolutním "highlightem", podle mě, je "infinity pool", který má nádherný výhled na celé jezero. Otevřený je celoročně, takže spa můžete využít i v chladnějších měsících. Součástí spa je také vnitřní bazén a také venkovní Hollywood Pool, který se nachází v oddělené části. Každý host ve spa dostane župan a také žabky. V kabinkové části pak najdete spoustu produktů - například gumičky, odličovací tamponky, pilníky na nehty, tělové mléko nebo například taštičky na mokré plavky. V samotném spa pak můžete neomezeně konzumovat vodu, čaj a také snacks: oříšky, sušené ovoce a klasické ovoce. Využít můžete také jednu z pohodlných postelí, lehátek a odpočinkových koutků, kde můžete vypnout a relaxovat na 100%. Několik saun, pár, hamamů a dalších "atrakcí" je samozřejmostí. Zabookovat si také můžete privátní pokoj se saunou nebo jacuzzi a samozřejmě i jednnu z mnoha zdravotnických i zkrášlovacích procedur. Na "spa menu" najdete například nejrůznější masáže, masky na obličej, manikuru nebo ošetření vlasů. Nově hotel spolupracuje s mojí oblíbenou kosmetickou značkou, Biologique Recherche, od které se v hotelu můžete nechat ošetřit nebo si zakoupit jejich produkty. V hotelu se nachází také konfereční prostory, které slouží nejen ke klasickým konferencím, ale například také ke svatebním obřadům a večeřím. Zajít můžete i do kina, které se nachází přímo "v domě".

 

THE ROOMS

In the Palace Hote there are 109 luxurious rooms - this time we stayed in the amazing Lake View Deluxe Room with Balcony - and of course spa access. The room was spacious - besides the bedroom there was a big bathroom with a shower, sink for 2 and a restroom. The highlight for me personally is the balcony facing the lake where you can enjoy a drink or two. For me, personally, the Palace Hotel is the number one choice in summer as it has balconies which the Bürgenstock Resort itself doesn't have. 

V Palace Hotel se nachází 109 luxusně zařízených pokojů - my jsme byli ubytovaní v kategorii "Lake View Deluxe Room with Balcony & Spa Access". Součástí pokoje byla ložnice, ve které se také nacházela šatna, pracovní plocha, menší gouč a také minibar. V koupelně byla pak prostorná sprcha, umyvadlo pro 2 a také toaleta. Součástí pokoje byl také balkonek, který byl skvělý především na večerní posezení. 

THE RESTAURANTS 

The first evening we enjoyed our dinner in the Oak Grill & Pool Patio. The restaurant is located near by the Alpine Spa in the Bürgenstock Resort itself - there is also an outside part where you can sit at the Hollywood Pool. As started I enjoyed lobster bisque and as the main course I went with a half of a lobster with risotto as a side dish. I think both dishes tasted amazingly and the whole ambience gave us a real mountain feeling.

Náš první večer jsme na večeři vyrazili do restaurace Oak Grill & Pool Patio. Ta se nachází v hotelu Bürgenstock, nedaleko Alpine Spa. Její součástí je jak vnitřní, tak venkovní posezení, a to hned u bazénu Hollywood Pool. Jako předkrm jsem zvolila humří bisque a dále pak půlku kanadského humra s rissotem. Obě jída byla naprosto skvělá a osobně se mi moc líbil i alpinský "vibe", který restaurace měla. 

On our second evening we made a reservation in Lake View Bar & Cigar Lounge which is located in the main lobby area of the Bürgenstock Hotel. This inside situated restaurant and lounge is offering all day dining and cocktails - from snacks over Afternoon Tea to full dishes. We started our evening with a glass of champagne, followed by an appetizer: a fresh salmon with caviar. As my main course I went for a white fish with foam and risotto which tasted really amazing. On this day the weather was not that great therefore this inside located lounge was a perfect choice. What I can recommend here is trying the Passionfruit Martini which immediately became one of my favourite cocktails in Bürgenstock!

Druhý večer jsme měli zarezervovaný stůl v lobby resturaci Lake View Bar & Cigar Lounge, která se nachází v hotelu Bürgenstock. Otevřená je po celý den a na menu najdete jak menší "snacks", tak i Afternoon Tea i klasické jídlo. Součástí je také hotelový bar. Já jsem večer začala skleničkou šampanského a uzeným lososem s kaviárem. Jako hlavní chod jsem zvolila rybu s rissotem a pěnou, která byla opravdu vynikající. Jelikož bylo v den naší návštěvy poměrně zataženo a i poměrně zima, byla tahle restaurací volbou číslo 1. 

On the third day of our stay we went to the oriental Sharq Oriental Restaurant. To be perfectly honest I don't think that I would necessarily choose Arabian for dinner but I really have to say that I was surprised by the whole ambience. First off, the restaurant is located in a separate building from which you can enjoy a great view of the Lake Lucerne and also enjoy the amazing sunset. As started we got typical Arabian Mezze - a combination of different dishes, like hummus, tabouleh, etc. to share. I think everything tasted really amazing and I was really surprised by the flavours of Middle East. For my main course, the Chef prepared me a special dish: since I felt like eating rice, he made me Saffron rice with shrimps. This tasted amazing as well. Sadly, we didn't have any space for the dessert however if you're staying in the Resort, or simply just visiting, I can only recommend you to enjoy your dinner there or simply a cocktail with a hookah. 

Další den jsme na večeři byli v orientální Sharq Oriental Restaurant. Ta se nachází v oddělené budově hned vedle hotelu Palace. Má nejen vnitřní, ale také venkovní posezení, ze kterého je krásně vidět jezero a především také západ slunce. Jak je už jasné z názvu, Sharq se specializuje na lebanonskou a orientální kuchyni. Musím říct, že bych z vlastní iniciativy do arabské restaurace pravděpodobně nešla - musím ale přiznat, že by to byla velká škoda. Jídlo bylo naprosto skvělé: začali jsme "Mezze", tedy 5 různými pokrmy, včetně humusu nebo taboulehu, které byly servírovány v "rodinném, to share" stylu. Hlavní chod mi kuchař připravil podle přání: a to šafránovou rýži s krevetami. Musím říct, že jídlo bylo naprosto skvělé - pokud v Bürgenstocku budete, určitě doporučuji do restaurace zajít. Kromě jídla si v Sharqu můžete objednat i šíšu. 

Our 4 day stay ended in my most favourite restaurant in the property: Spices. This modern situated restaurant is offering traditional dishes with a twist from 4 Asian cuisines: Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Indian. The place is offering both inside and outside seating - I personally prefer seating outside and enjoying the sunset "in the front row". As a starter I can only recommend taking the Sashimi platter - it is really fresh and if you enjoy Japanese cuisine, you should definitely go for it. As a main course I tried their sushi which was a culinary experience as well. Instead of dessert, I took a Chili Passionfruit Martini which was really amazing too. To me, Spices, will be always something to look forward too in the hotel and even if you are not able to stay in the property, I think it is really worth it to pay a visit to the Spices. 

Náš poslední večer jsme strávili v mé nejoblíbenější restauraci v celém komplexu, v asijské Spices. Ta nabízí tradiční pokrmy z japonské, čínské, thajské a indické kuchyně. Místa k sezení má jak vevnitř, tak venku. Já, pokud to samozřejmě počasí umožní, preferuji sedět venku, kde si lépe můžete vychutnat západ slunce, kerý je v Bürgenstocku dechberoucí. Jako předkrm doporučuji vyzkoušet Sashimi platter, který já volím vždy - sashimi je opravdu čerstvé a chutná naprosto skvěle. Jako hlavní chod jsem tentokrát zvolila sushi, které také nemělo chybu. Bohužel jsem už neměla místo na dezert - místo něho jsem ale zvolila marajukové martini s čili, které se hned stalo mým oblíbeným. Pokud nebudete mít možnost se v hotelu ubytovat, doporučuji si udělat "výlet" na večeři do Spices, která je podle mě naprosto bezkonkorenční! 

In the hotel complex you also find additional restaurants, the Ritz Caffier and Salon 1903 located in the Palace Hotel, the restaurants Verbena and Osteria Alpina which you can find the Waldhotel or a traditional Swiss-cuisine oriented Taverne 1879 based in the Taverne.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

I think I do not have to tell you why I love this place so much - I think the fact that this was my third visit of Bürgenstock speaks for itself. The view from the hotel is simply breathtaking, the service is always on point, the food really fresh and delicious. To me, Bürgenstock Resort is one of the best hotels not only in Europe but also in the whole world. 

Myslím, že asi nemusím dále vysvětlovat proč jsem si hotel tak zamilovala. Přecejenom fakt, že jsem v hotelu byla potřetí, mluví sám za sebe. Myslím si, že Bürgenstock není jen jedním z nejlepších hotelů v Evropě - ale na celém světě!
