#VHCITYGUIDE: MALLORCA

Mallorca is a part of the Balearic Islands, located in the Mediterranean Sea. The capital of the island is Palma de Mallorca and the island can be reached with a 2.5h long flight directly from Prague. We spent the past two weeks on the island, so I decided to write this post with some locations worth the visit in my opinion. If you're coming to Mallorca, I highly recommend following @mallorcatourism on IG which is an account dedicated to Mallorca - they are sharing amazing local tips and secret locations!

Mallorka je jezdním z Baleárských ostrovů, které se nachází ve Středozemním moři. Hlavním městem ostrova je Palma de Mallorca a z Prahy se na ostrov dostanete přímým letem, který trvá přibližně 2.5 hodiny. Na Mallorce jsme strávili krásných 10 dní, a tak bych se s Vámi chtěla podělit o pár míst a restaurací, které podle mě na ostrově stojí za to navštívit. Zároveň také doporučuji sledovat na Instagramu @mallorcatourism - jedná se o oficiální účet o Mallorce, kde najdete spoustu užitečných rad, tipů, skvělých míst a lokálních "gems". 

SOLLER / PUERTO DE SOLLER

One of the first cities we visited on the island was Soller. We actually stayed in Puerto de Soller which to me was probably the most beautiful city on the island. We stayed in the 4* Superior hotel called Hotel Esplendido which I honestly can only recommend. We had two spacious rooms facing the sea, with a direct view on the port. Watching the sunset from the spacious terrace was simply amazing! The whole hotel has an amazing interior and restaurant located directly on the main promenade. Not only has the restaurant an incredible view but also had really delicious food and drinks. One of my favourite features of the hotel was a hidden garden which was located 4 or 5 floors. There was a big heated pool on the main floor and also additional infinity pool on the highest level - which was obviously my fav. 

When it comes to restaurants, I can definitely recommend the restaurant located in the Hotel Espendido. One of my favourite spots around was also NENI Mallorca which can be found a little uphill, with a great view, interior and food! 

Jako první město jsme na ostrově navštívili Soller. Ubytovaní jsme byli přesně v Puerto de Soller, které je podle mě jedno z nejhezčích měst na ostrově. Ubytovaní jsme byli v hotelu 4* Superior - Hotel Esplendido, který můžu jen doporučit. Pokoje měly krásný výhled na přístav, který byl nejhezčí při západu slunce. Hotel byl krásně zařízený a také měl součástí restauraci, která se nacházela přímo na hlavní promenádě. Skvělé mi přišla hlavně hotelová zahrada, která byla rozložena na 5. patrech - na prvním patře se nacházel hlavní bazén a na 5. patře pak infinity pool, který měl stejně krásný výhled jako z pokoje. 

Co se restaurací týče, tak bych v okolí rozhodně doporučila hotelovou restauraci a také NENI Mallorca, která se nachází v kopcích, takže je z ní hezký výhled na celé město. Zároveň je také krásně zařízená a má skvělý servis a jídlo. 

DEIA & VALLDEMOSSA

Another two cities worth the trip are Deia and Valldemossa in my opinion. Deia is located in-land and in this small town you can visit the Belmond Hotel which is one of the best ones on the island. Inside of the Belmond there is a restaurant El Olivio which is definitely worth the visit. One of the things worth seeing is definitely Cala Deia which has really clear water and amazing atmosphere! In this area you should also pay a visit to a restaurant called Ca's Patro March which offers delicious fresh food, great drinks and most importantly a great view and atmosphere! When road tripping around the area we also found Restaurante Es Port de Valldemossa which was one of the best restaurants we visit during our stay!

Nedaleko Solleru se nachází Deia a Valldemossa, což jsou podle mě další 2 místa, které byste neměli vynechat. Deia se nachází ve vnitrozemí a může se chlubit jedním z nejluxusnějších hotelů na celém ostrovem - hotelem Belmond. V něm najdete restauraci El Olivio, která má neuvěřitelnou atmosféru a která jednoznačně patřím k těm nejhezčím na Mallorce. Nedaleko se nachází zátoka Cala Deia, která je známá svojí průznačnou vodou. Přesně u ní se nachází restaurace Ca's Patro March, kterou jste již určitě viděli na Instagramu - má jedinečný výhled a krásnou atmosféru. Při projíždění pobřeží jsme také narazili na městěčko Valldemossa, kde rozhodně doporučuji navštívit Restaurante Es Port de Valldemossa.

ILLETAS / PUERTO PORTALS

After spending some time in Soller we moved to the south side of the island, to Illetas. This is a small village / city which is about 15 minutes away from Palma (by cab). In this area I can definitely recommend getting a drink at the Purobeach Illetas which has a cool atmosphere and a cool view (the picture above was taken there!). Just a few minutes away there is the Balneario Illetas which has great food and atmosphere as well! A little closer to Palma you can find the Avocado Mallorca which serves a selection of healthy meals, including avocado burgers, smoothies or acai bowls. Just a few meters away there is a restaurant called Il Paradiso which is a great Italian restaurant with an amazing view - to be honest this place gave me such Positano vibes! On the other side from Illetas you can reach Puerto Portals - if you wanna go high-end shopping, this is definitely THE place for you. Also there is a restaurant called Lila Portals which is definitely worth the visit - however make sure to book your table a couple of days in advance!

Po návštěvě Solleru jsme se přestěhovali do městečka Illetas, kde jsme strávili další týden. Illetas se nachází na jižní straně ostrova, cca. 15 minut jízdy autem od Palmy. V této oblasti rozhodně doporučuji navštívit Purobeach Illetas, které má krásný výhled (fotka nahoře) a také Balnerio Ilettas, které se nachází přímo u pláže. Nedaleko Illetas se nachází také podnik Avocado Mallroca, kde si můžete vychutnat zdravo kuchyni, včetně acai bowls, smoothies a avokádových toastů. Jen pár metrů od tohoto bistra najdete italskou restauraci Il Paradiso, které mě osobně hodně připomínalo Positano. Druhým směrem od Illetas se pak nachází Puerto Portals, menší přístavní městečko, které své návštěvníky láká především velkým výběrem restaurací, kaváren a obchodů. Zde doporučuji Lila Portals - nezapomeňte ale rezervovat minimálně 4 dny dopředu!

PALMA DE MALLORCA

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island, so if you wanna shop, walk around and get lost in the small streets, this is the right place for you. The best shopping area is around Passeig del Born where you can find many local as well as many international brands. Not too far away you can reach the Hotel Nakar which has an amazing rooftop with an even more amazing rooftop pool (picture above). However make sure to check out their opening times! Another two rooftop locations I can highly recommend is the Sky Bar inside of the Hotel Almudaina and the Hotel Principe which has an amazing view as well! The main sights in the city is definitely the Cathedral - so once in Palma you should definitely go inside and even on the roof from where you can enjoy a spectacular view! If you're craving some healthy food, aka acai bowl or an avocado toast, head to one of these places: Mama Carmen's, MyMuyBueno Deli or Mise En Place. A hotel worth the visit which is a little further away is Cap Rocat.

Palma de Mallorca je hlavním městem Mallorky a také centrem všech obchodů, památek a všeho dění. Na nákupy rozhodně doporučuji okolí Passeig del Born, kde můžete najít spoustu mezinárodních i lokálních značek a obchodů. Palma má také spoustu skvělých rooftopů: za mě mohu doporučit Nakar Hotel, Sky Bar v hotelu Almudaina a také Hotel Principe. Za návštěvu stojí také katedrála, která se prakticky stala symbolem města. Můžete jít jak dovnitř, tak i na její střechu, ze které je nádherný výhled na celé město. Pokud si chcete objednat něco zdravého, navštivte jeden z těchto podniků: Mama Carmen's, MyMuyBueno Deli nebo Mise En Place. Zároveň také doporučuji navštívit hotel Cap Rocat, který je cca 8 minut jízdy taxikem.

MAGALUF

One of the last places we visited was Magaluf. To be honest I visited Magaluf in the past and found it a little trashy however now in COVID it was fine. If you wanna get a drink, visit the Nikki Beach Mallorca which has a great view and also great options.

Jedno z posledních měst, které jsme navštívili, byl Magaluf. V tomto městě jsem již byla před 3 lety a během "normálního provozu" mi přijde trochu "trashy". Teď během corony bylo ale prázdné. Můj jediný tip, kde jsem byla, je Nikki Beach.
